Peak Punch
A downloadable game for Windows
Portfolio:
My contributions for this project was: Combat balancing/design, Enemy AI/coding, UI implementation and sound design.
For this project I was very excited to work with a complexer concept after doing a lot of rapid prototyping assignments. I did a lot of research into fighting games and the sound design in them in order to create satisfying and impactful sound effects for this project that give a lot of feedback to the player.
I also tweaked combat to make it the most satisfying it can be and balanced it so that it wouldn't be too easy. For example by adding poise to enemies so they can't be infinitely stun locked.
The enemy AI was simple, but expandable for the project and has a lot of room to grow.
I also created a plug-in that the game artist's could use that allowed them to place gradients on images within Unity.
In the end I contributed a lot of polish such as: Enemy poise, fixing bugs, screenshake, particle effects and more. The game feel of this project feels very accomplished and satisfying.
During the group proces we would share a lot of our work with eachother and show eachother our progress. This would be very motivating and helped a lot during development. We also had plenty of work sessions and everyone was very stimulating to work with.
